The answer lies in between. The one thing common between Tollywood, Mollywood and Bollywood is that small to medium budget movies are walking the talk. A good example can be seen with Ajay Devgn’s ‘Shaitaan’, which was made on a medium budget of 60 crores.
People had minimal expectations from this movie, yet it managed to earn more than 200 crores worldwide. While movies like ‘Madgaon Express’, ‘Swatantrya Veer Savarkar’, and ‘Laapataa Ladies’ didn’t exactly hit bullseye, they still managed to recover their costs, and earn a respectable amount. Maybe the makers should let the ‘content do the talking’!
