Mollywood fans know how much the world of OTT has been beneficial for them. It has not only helped them gain national, as well as worldwide recognition but also made Malayalam cinema a force to be reckoned with.
Now, the state government is set to take complete advantage of this situation. In a landmark decision, the incumbent government of Kerala has launched C Space, which is a state-owned OTT platform, that will show the best of Malayalam content. The app was recently inaugurated by the CM of Kerala, Shri Pinarayi Vijayan.
While the crucial details about the app are yet to be revealed, some social media users have learned that C Space [which operates on a pay-per-view basis], allows its viewers to watch a feature film for ₹75 and shorter content for a much lesser price.
C Space is not only an innovative decision but will also change the dynamics of Malayalam cinema. Initially just restricted to the region of Kerala, the advent of social media has helped this technically advanced film industry to gain recognition throughout the nation for its approach towards content-driven, realistic cinema. Only recently, films like ‘Manjummel Boys’, ‘Bramayugam’ and ‘Premalu’ have gained national fame for their content, as well as the massive revenue they generated at the box office.
