Plot

Miss Julia is an actress, who ruled the cinema lovers in the 40’s. Russi Billimoria is Julia’s mentor and Russi loves Julia deep from his heart. He treats Julia like an expensive gift. Julia falls for Nawab, as he cares her spirited side. While the triangular love story between the producer, an actress and an army man moves in an exciting path, there comes a villain named Major General David Harding. He doesn’t like Indians and he is a sadist, who laughs at the victims, who fall prey to his gun shots. With whom Julia’s life starts? What is the part of Major General David Harding? Star Performances

Shahid is always best in his romance and action. Kangana, who is popular for her casual performance had done justice to the role as actress Julia. Richard McCabe needs a special mention here for his villainy looks and body language.

Analysis

The triangular love story has been handled pretty well by Vishal. However, he makes us feel that he lost his concentration in the war sequences. The costume planning for a periodic film needs much analysis and focus. It is one among the significant efforts made by the team.

What’s There?

Shahid and Kangana’s performance
Saif Ali Khan’s body language and tone
Cinematography is brilliant

What’s Not There?

Although there are a couple of intimate scenes between Shahid and Kangana, they don't seem to be much romantic
The important war scenes doesn’t have any special effects
Displeasing climax is the biggest drawback

Verdict

On the whole, Rangoon, the triangular love story with the war background could be watched once.
