Plot

The members of the Indian Liberation Party (ILP) work for the liquor barons. They desire the declining party to win the upcoming Kerala state election, as it will bring prosperity to their business. To do so, they decided to make a biopic film on Kammaran Nambiar. Kammaran Nambiar is the party patriarch of ILP and the last freedom fighter of the Indian independence movement. For this, they ask help from Director Pulikeshi. This leads to a film based on Robert S. Coogan’s  “Unsung Heroes of India.” In this, Kammaran is shown as a forgotten freedom fighter. But the reality was different from the known facts. The Kammaran Nambiar is not the hero, as people depicted. He is the anti-hero in real life. What happens next? Will director know the reality of Kammaran Nambiar? The rest of the story deals with it.

Star Performance

Namitha Pramod, as Bhanumathi, did an incredible performance in the film. Her journey to become the wife of Kammaran Nambiar was brilliant. Her detailing of the character was outstanding. Her chemistry with Siddharth, as Othenan Nambiar, and Dileep, as Kammaran Nambiar, was good in the film. Dileep, as Kammaran Nambiar, did a fantastic performance in the movie. He shows the nature of a person who pretends to be a hero but in reality, is an anti-hero. His acting was factual and natural. One would be surprised how he manipulated people around him after watching this movie. She that much impact she made in the whole film —his appearance as the anti-hero was scary, horrifying, and exciting. Bobby Simha, as Pulikeshi, did a remarkable performance in the movie. All the other actors were as good as the main lead actors.

Analysis

The film's storyline was great, thrilling, exciting, and entertaining —the film focuses on the central theme of an anti-hero who pretends to be a hero. The film shows the elements of Kleptomania, untouchability, superior complex, and manipulation behavior. The film also shows the audience how much influence the entertainment industry has. This leads us to  the dark side of the industry, where we see how an anti-hero can be a hero in people’s eyes. The storyline was interesting but lacked in the scripting. The movie had unnecessary scenes, which made it dull at times. The thriller nature of the film is maintained from the start till the end. The adventurous journey of Kammaran Nambiar is demonstrated in the movie. The background music and songs play a significant role in the film. The dialogues were excellent.
