Badlapur is a dark saga of vengeance with many shades of gray to it. Director Sriram Raghavan, who is an exponent at delivering thrillers, crafted another chilling movie based on a true story. The movie gets you thinKing about the concepts of loss, pain, forgiveness and justice. It revolves around a common Indian man, whose wife and son get murdered during a random bank robbery. Years later, he is in search of the revenge that he couldn’t get back then and sets off to find the criminals accountable.
The story spans over the lead characters played by Varun Dhawan, youth to middle age. Apart from him, the movie has other strong and well- sketched characters played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Huma Qureshi and Radhika Apte. One of the most crowd pulling songs of the movie was ‘Jeena Jeena’. Composed by the popular music duo Sachin-Jigar and sung by Atif Aslam, the song captures the love between the lead character and his wife, and also sets the stage for the impending tragedy.
