The field of cinema is one which churns out dreams. It is indeed called a dream factory. Cinema has been in the vogue for several decades. During the earlier days cinema used to come out with messages and as days went on entertainment came to the fore. Heroes and the heroines were treated as demigod and goddesses. People are taken in by what is projected in the screen. Actors in the screen are not same as they are in real life. This is called the halo effect. We see halo surrounding the pictures of gods and goddesses and same way people imagine the actors and actresses

People are so much taken in by the appearance of actors that many actors have come to politics. Nowadays unlike before there is violence and lewd language in Cinema. But there are two sides to the same coin. Even now there are good movies. So let's take the good and leave the bad.

During the initial days of cinema, there was mono-acting and there were no dialogues. But since everything was new, people watched the silver screen wide-eyed. Also, the pictures on the screen were slow-moving. The silent cinema was in the vogue for quite some time after which due to advancement in technology, the dialogues spoken by the actors could be heard. After the black and white cinema slowly color cinemas started appearing. With the evolution of cinema, actors in the movies became popular among the masses, and the trend of hero-worshipping came to the fore.

The budding years of cinema was during the 19th century. The moving pictures took the audiences by awe. It was introduced by the Edison and Lumiere brothers

For quite some time, there were silent movies. It was during the earlier stages of 20th century. The field of cinema bore the brunt during the world wars.

As the next millennium started, the cinema, actors and technicians turned very popular in the media. In the middle of 20th century, television dramas and serials became popular. Animation movies also became popular. In a surprising development, actors who came with messages for the society turned into politicians and headed the Indian states and the country.

There are two sides to the same coin. As people watched their favorite heroes indulge in lewd language and violence, they followed suite and there was spurt in crime in the society. But still, there were movies with messages and spiritual movies which brought a positive trend in the society. Many cinema songs with messages brought a positive trend.

Cinemas with sound also saw many comedians who impressed the masses with witty dialogues. During the earlier days of cinema, many actors impressed the audiences through their performances. We have seen comic books but now there are animation movies. Graphics and animation have made a huge development.

As the quality of cinema improved, awards were given to good movies. The Oscar Awards were given to movies which had positive features. Quite a handful of Indian movies have also won the internationally recognized Oscar awards.

The Hollywood movies which emerged in the USA took the lead and won many Oscar awards. Hollywood movies by famous writers became very popular. The adventure movie of James Bond is one such which inspired the audiences. Many techniques were introduced in the movies which created ripples of sensation amidst the masses. During the earlier days of cinema, the quality somewhat lagged behind. But as cinemas emerged with sound, there was a rapid transition in quality. The movies with sound had a new turning point. Movies full of music impressed the masses. During the early stages of the 20th century, color cinemas and dazzling lights impressed the masses. As quality of cinema improved there were lot of film festivals held. Of late, before the release of the movies, promotion of the movie is held and the audio launch is also held.

We see the faces of actors and get impressed. But behind the action, there is the work of so many technicians. Indeed they are the silent heroes who have guided the actors to give a quality output. Initially the developed countries came up with movies. Following trail, many other countries started making movies. The Indian film industry has quality movies in various languages. Initially in Indian cinema, there were stage dramas. In the middle of the 20th century, movies in Indian languages resembled stage dramas.

Also in cinema, many devices were used. The devices enhanced the appearance of cinemas. Many movie actors turned popular to the extent that they became politicians. Their movies used to emerge with messages, and the movie songs were also full of messages.

Later decades of 20th century saw a new cult in cinema. Many quality directors and actors emerged. But of late, there was a tremendous blow to the cine world as the Corona virus spread rapidly. But now the cine world is gaining form again. Those who are behind the making of a movie have started gaining recognition.

The Tamil cinema has also seen the emergence of quality actors. During the middle 20th century, there was a sudden change in trend, and importance was given to dialogues.

As time went on, many blockbuster movies and those with good box-office collection emerged. Although the theatres were closed during the period of pandemic, many quality movies emerged after the pandemic. One has to take into account the fact that as television industry popped up, people found a new alternative to going to theatres to watch a movie. But the film industry is equally competent and has evolved in such a way that there is no dearth to entertainment.

Thanks to creative artistes and actors, the masses are enthralled with emergence of quality movies. Also the emergence of internet has boosted the film industry.
