Mammootty The Best Actor Award  is a popular, hit and successful Malayalam reality show which airs on the leading and prominent Malayalam entertainment television channel Asianet TV. The show is currently off air and is preparing to launch and air its fourth season on the channel soon. It is basically a talent hunt show which aims to find and promote the finest and talented actors and actress from across Kerala. Mammootty the best actor award is given to the winner of the show. It is probably the only show named and dedicated to the living legend-the superstar of Malayalam film industry Mammootty who also happens to be the judge of the show.
Contestants and partiipants are selected from across various locations of Kerala and they undergo a very strict and stringent auditioning process only after which only a few number among the registrants are selected to compete with each other and appear on the show to showcase their acting skills in front of the superstar the legendary Mammootty. The show Mammootty the best actor award was initially launched in the year 2009 for a single season but after its airing it became an instant hit and immensely popular and hence the management and Mammootty himself to continue the show to next seasons. As of now the show has successfully completed 3 seasons and all set to start its fourth season. This show has provided the audiences with some of the new and fresh faces to the industry.
