Adrian was born on April 30, 1965, in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, U.S., to Homayoon Pasdar and Rosemarie Sbresny. His father was a cardiac surgeon, and his mother worked as a travel agent. Adrian has a sister named Anamarie Pasdar, who is a theatrical artistic director and producer. He did his schooling at the Marple Newtown High School, where he studied and developed his interest for acting. Later, he joined a theater group, People's Light and Theatre Company, and assisted on sound and lighting by being a part of the stage crew responsible for set construction. Soon, he landed an opportunity to play the role of a police officer in the Dixie Chicks video in their song ‘Goodbye Earl’.

This music video was a mega-hit among the viewers and won two awards, namely the Academy of Country Music and the Country Music Association's Video of the Year Awards in 2000. This video provided some limelight on him and assisted him in earning fame.
