Kevin OLeary

Kevin O’Leary is a well-known Canadian businessman, Journalist, Investor, and Television Personality. His birth date is 9 July 1954. His birthplace is Montreal. He is famous by the name Mr. Wonderful or Maple Man. He grew up in the Town of Mount Royal, Quebec. He has citizenship in Canada, the United Arab Emirates, and Ireland. He studied at Stanstead College, Quebec. and St. Georges School, Quebec. His father died when he was only seven, and his mother raised him by running the family clothing business as an executive. Later, her mother married an economist, George Kanawaty, who worked with the UN International Labour Organisation. Kevin lived in many places like Cambodia, Ethiopia, and Cyprus. His father encouraged him, and he developed an interest in business and investing. Later, Kevin earned a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science and Psychology in 1977 from the University of Waterloo.

He also gained an MBA in Entrepreneurship from the Ivey Business School in 1980 at the University of Western Ontario. He began his Business Career in 1978 at Nabisco in Downtown Toronto as an Assistant Brand Manager. Later, he became a television producer and co-founded Special Event Television with his MBA partners. Under this television production company, he produced original sports programs such as The Original Six, Bobby Orr, Don Cherry Grapevine, and Hockey Legends. In 1986, he started Softkey, a publisher and distributor of CD-based personal computer software for Windows and Macintosh Computers. The company also developed educational software products. In 1995, Softkey acquired The Learning Company (TLC). In 2003, he became a co-investor and corporate director at StorageNow Holding. In 2007, he joined the advisory board of Genstar Capital, a private equity firm. In 2008, he co-founded O’Leary Funds Inc., a mutual fund management firm. Later, he worked on ETF, Investing, Cryptocurrencies, and many more. As an author, he published his first book, Cold Hard Truth: On Business, Money & Life, which is about family relationships, investing, money, and life in 2011.

A sequel, The Cold Hard Truth on Men, Women, and Money: 50 Common Money Mistakes and How to Fix Them, was published in 2012. Later, he released the book Cold Hard Truth on Family, Kids, and Money in 2015, Cold Hard Truth on Marriage and Money: Part Two of Cold Hard Truth on Family, Kids and Money in 2015, and Digital Pivot or Bust In a Post COVID-19 World: Why Small Businesses Must Re-Think Everything to Survive and Thrive! in 2020. In 2015, he appeared in the game show Celebrity Jeopardy and many more.
