Missy Peregrym

Missy Peregrym, a Canadian model turned actress, is known primarily for the film Stick It. She has also featured in the television series Rookie Blue, Reaper, Black Sash, and Heroes, among others.

Melissa Peregrym was born on June 16, 1982. Her father was Rev. Darrell Peregrym, a Pentecostal Minister, and her mother Vanessa Peregrym, a housewife. Melissa or Missy has two sisters named Cassandra and Amanda. After some time, her family relocated to Surrey, British Columbia. The actress pursued her studies at Fleetwood Park Secondary School, British Columbia, where she lived with her family.

Later she went to Aurora College, where she graduated in 2004. Since childhood itself, Missy has had a passion for sports and athletics. She enjoyed watching and playing basketball and soccer and trained her school basketball team. The actress also liked to snowboard and was a confessed tomboy who did not incline towards fashion or the world of glamour.

Despite that, Missy moved to Los Angeles and chose to become a model at the young age of eighteen itself when she joined the Lizbell Agency. During her stint with the modeling agency, Peregrym was urged to feature in commercials. As a result, she did advertisements for the Olympic Games, Mercedes-Benz.

Peregrym ventured into acting with the television series Dark Angel as Hottie Blood. Later she appeared in other shows like The Chris Isaak Show, Jake 2.0, Tru Calling, Smallville, Andromeda, Black Sash, Life As We Know It, Smallville: Vengeance Chronicles, Heroes, Reaper, Cybergeddon, Rookie Blue, Van Helsing, and FBI, among others.

Talking about movies, Missy first appeared in the flick Catwoman in an uncredited role as a Beau-line Graphics Model. It was in the 2006 film Stick It that she featured in a lead role as Haley Graham. Peregrym was a part of the television movie Wide Awake as Cassie Wade. She featured in a short titled Something Red in 2011.

Missy is featured in a lead role in the 2014 film Backcountry, which revolves around a couple that goes out to camp but loses their way and ventures into an area haunted by a black bear.

The actress has several awards to her credit, like the Streamy Award, which she won in 2013 for her performance in the web series Cybergeddon. In 2016, she was nominated for a Canadian Screen Award for her performance in the series Rookie Blue. She was awarded the Maple of Excellence for Outstanding Acting Achievement at the Golden Maple Awards.

Peregrym has figured as #54 in the Hot 100 of 2007 list of Maxim magazine. She was ranked nineteenth in the Sexiest Women of TV list of Wizard magazine in 2008.
