Vidya has an outstanding academic background. She got Bachelors of Arts Degree in Journalism and Politics from New York University. After completing her Bachelors of Arts Degree, she got her Master’s Degree in writing and non-fiction writing from Johns Hopkins University Advanced Academic Programs. Vidya started working as an Investigate Unit Intern at A.B.C. News for a short time. Then, she got the role of United Nations Bureau Intern at CNN News. After a short time, she got promoted to News Assistant.

She left her job at CNN and joined WTNH-TV as an Assignment Editor. Then, she joined NY1 News as a Researcher and was later promoted to Associate Producer. Finally, she joined C.B.S. News and has been working there till now. She has been in the company for over twelve years in various positions. She joined C.B.S. News as a Digital Media Associate and made her way through to become a producer at C.B.S. Saturday Morning.
