Born on June 30, 1970, Derek Haas has already created a wave in the field of literature and film (especially Hollywood). His most famous works include ‘The Silver Bear’ and ‘Dark Men.’ Novels, sequels, short stories, blogs and even television, there’s nothing Derek hasn’t tried. He was the editor of page popcornfiction.com where he gathered short stories from different authors and published them together in his blog.

From 2013 the blog stopped publishing as Haas turned his attention and majority of his time in working along with television shows. His first TV show t was the Chicago Fire, an American action-drama series in 2012. Well shown through the series are the daily struggles and the pain the paramedics and firefighters of Firehouse 51, which come under the Chicago Fire Department.

This series managed to create a feeling of deep emotional sentiments among the society. In the year 2014, his next Television production named Chicago PD was out. This television series was more of a police procedural drama taken in the American perspective, focusing especially on the uniformed patrol officers who handle the city’s street crimes, along with the Intelligence Unit of the 21st district under the Chicago Police Department who help to solve organized crimes, high profile murderers, drug traffickers and more. The next ones in the Chicago franchise were the ‘Chicago Med’ and ‘Chicago Justice’ published following to Chicago PD in the years 2015 and 16 respectively. Chicago Med tries to show how the emergency department doctors and nurses handle and tackle various types of problem and new challenges. Just like the rest, this was also based on the Gaffney Chicago Medical Center. He indulges the characters from both Chicago Fire and Chicago PD in this series.

Chicago Justice, the last one in this series was out in 2016 and was up in the air on March 1, 2017. The aim of this series is to show how the Chicago area politics, the legal formalities and media can help in pursuing justice. Other than these series he also did the screenplays for seven films which are The Invisible (2001), 2 Fast 2 Furious (2003), Catch that Kid (2004), 3:10 to Yuma (2007), Wanted (2008), The Double Click to look into! >> Read More...
