Husn Banu is a Bollywood actress who rose to fame as a stunt actress after 'Hanterwali Nadia' and worked as a supporting actress in films from the 1930s to the 1970s. She was born in Singapore in 1919. Husn Banu was born Roshan Ara on February 8, 1919, in Singapore; she is the daughter of actress Sharifa Bhai (1930) and the aunt of actress Najma. She enrolled in high school in Mumbai, and she passed grade 12. She was fluent in English, Gujarati, Marathi, Urdu, Bengali, and Hindi. She also mastered singing and dancing. Like his mother, Husn Banu started his career in Kolkata. Banu starred in 1934 with actress Umasashi and her K.L. Saigal; the film's cast included K.L. Saigal, Yuma Shashi, Prithviraj Kapoor, Husumbanu, Pahari Sanyar, and Nemo. Dak Mansoor is the debut film of actress Husun Banu.

Her mother, Sharifa, was not happy with New Theater's payment and took her to Bombay, where Husu Banu began playing her roles in Wadia films. Husn Banu got only C-Class stunt films. After 1940 she succeeded with her two social films by Bharat Lakshmi. In 1941, she appeared in two films by Bhavnani Productions and National Studios. Mostly she got only small or supporting roles. In 1941, Husn Banu starred in a film called Dhandora, where she co-starred with Noor Mohammad Charlie. Husn Banu appeared in about 53 films in her lifetime, and in 16 films, she sang 44 songs. She appeared in films in both her leading and character roles until she died in 1977. Her last film was Akhari Sajda. She built a large house in Dadar, Bombay, and was named 'Sharee Famanzil' by her mother, Sharifa.

On November 23, 1986, Aspi Irani's husband left home for work in the morning, but he disappeared. He was declared a "missing person" by the police and never returned. Husn Banu was so beautiful and glamorous that in the early 1940s, he appeared in commercials for Lux Soap. Jawani (1942) is the best film of her career as an actress.
