Samir Sarkar

Samir Sarkar is an aspiring film producer in the Bollywood film industry.  He is known for producing the 2018 critically acclaimed Bengali film Jonaki and worked in the film industry for over twenty-five years. He was born in Singapore but was brought up in Puducherry. He completed his education at Sri Aurobindo International Center of Education and studied film production at LA FEMIS, the national film school of France in Paris. He also studied corporate advertising at Contract, WPP advertising agency group. He is fluent in more than seven languages and worked as an executive and line producer in multiple international film projects. 

Samir Sarkar has produced five feature films in multiple languages. He has also produced various television commercials, documentaries, music videos, and many more. He started his production company MAGIC HOUR FILMS in 2008, which has won multiple awards. He produced Jonaki in 2018 which was screened in many international film festivals, and also won the Silver Gateway Award at the MAMI Mumbai Festival conducted in 2019.
