Laxmi is a TV host and a campaigner for acid attack victim rights. She was born on June 1, 1990, in Delhi. At the age of fifteen in 2005, Laxmi was attacked with an acid by a man whose approval she rejected. She has undergone many surgeries, including eye surgery. In 2006, she approached Supreme Court by way of Public Interest Litigation. Laxmi worked for the rights of acid attack survivors, and in the process, she went on hunger strikes. She also received an International Women of Courage Award and was praised by Michelle Obama. Laxmi has a daughter named Pihu.
