Sandeep Kamal is perhaps the biggest name in visual effects creation in the Bollywood industry. Sandeep is a visual effects artist, filmmaker, director, producer and content creator. Born and bred in Udaipur, Sandeep grew up in a very simple family. He had no proper education in the field of animation or painting or, yet during his school days Sandeep won a host of awards in school and even on the regional level. He became quite popular in Udaipur for his artistry and his name started to go around the whole state. Right after he finished his school education, he started working for an artist production house which was founded by an artist family, where Sandeep would draw family portraits, portraits of monuments and he would also adapt some of the greatest paintings into the oil painting form. Under the mentorship of Rekha Pancholi, he entered the Rajasthan Lalitkala Academy Painting competition which he won. He also worked under the distinguished artist Shahid Parvez, from whom he learnt the art of caricature and cartooning. He has always cited his teacher, Bijoy Choudhary as the main reason he got into animation, as he was the one who introduced Sandeep to the world of computer art and animation.

In 1996, Sandeep joined Digital Opera as a 3D artist, a company out of Goa which has headquarters in Italy. A company where Sandeep worked on texturing and character animation for computer games. As Sandeep’s work kept on improving year by year, he was becoming famous for his amazing work. After his stint in Digital Opera, Sandeep worked for a few more animation studios, and in 2003, he got his big break in Bollywood when he worked as the animator in Qayamat: A City Under Threat. Since then there was no stopping Sandeep, he worked on movies like Anji, Ek Haseena Thi, Aan: Men At Work, Ten, Naina, Vaah! Life Ho To Aisi, Bhagam Bhaag and many other.

He also worked in Hollywood’s 28 Weeks Later as a compositor. Till now, Sandeep has worked for more than 50 feature films, which have been blockbusters at the box office, he has also picked up numerous awards like the National Award for best Visual Effects for the movie Jal, the Silver Lotus Awards and many more. He is currently working on the much anticipated movies Bob Biswas and Takht.
