Antony Basker Raj is an Indian director, producer and writer. He is known for his work in the Malayalam film industry. He was born on 21st April 1925 in Alappuzha. He has left his mark on the Sinhalese, Tamil and Malayalam movie industries. He made his directorial debut in the Sinhalese industry in 1953 with his movie ‘Prema Tharagaya.’ Over the next five years, he directed five movies in the same industry, after which he turned to Mollywood.
In the year 1968, he directed his first Malayali film, ‘Kaliyalla Kalyanam.’ Over the course of the next sixteen years, he wrote six movies and directed more than forty. It was during this time that he directed two movies in Tamil - Thulli Odum Pullimaan and Kai Niraya Kasu in the years 1971 and 1974, respectively.
