K. B. Ganesh Kumar

Keezhoote Balakrishna Pillai Ganesh Kumar (known as K B Ganesh Kumar) is an actor, TV host and even a politician. He is the son of the veteran politician, R. Balakrishna Pillai. Like his father, the actor too had a long innings in his political career having won three times from his constituency in the election. The actor first made his foray into films during 1985.

Earlier in his career as an actor, Pillai played supporting character roles and even had portrayed predominantly villain, anti-social and rowdy characters in the movies. His career in acting was for a span of two decades. Even after being elected as MLA, he did not give up his love for acting. He made a balance between his political and acting career graph.

His first movie was ‘‘Erakal' directed by KG George. Later on since 2001, he was seen playing various roles in movies and entertaining masses. Ganesh Kumar had some issues with his personal life. His first marriage faced complexities and he divorced his first wife Dr.Yamini Thankachi whom he married on 20 May 1994.

Later, he again married the marketing head of Asianet TV channel, Bindhu Menon. The actor was very choosy and selective in his roles be it small or big screen. Hence, he had done some meaningful roles as a supporting actor in Malayalam cinema whether it had many grey shades in the character or even very good and significant meaning too. But it is true that the industry had offered him a platform to project his skills and he always wanted to portray negative or grey-shaded characters. He was born on 25 May 1966 in Trivandrum.
