Dr. N Gopalakrishnan is an Indian scientist and director of the Indian Institute of Scientific Heritage. In India, he is one of the finest Structural Dynamics engineers. He has worked at the AStaR (Advanced Seismic Testing and Research Laboratory) of CSIR-SERC. He had a qualification of B.E from the College of Engineering, Guindy, M.Tech in Structural Engineering from IIT Madras. He has also done a Ph. D. from the Indian Institute of Science.
He was awarded the Ramaiah’s prize for drafting 61 international and national journals and the D.Litt award for his research in Sanskrit. He researched for over 28 years. He is a lecturer and presents many universities, colleges, training institutes, and companies. He has established the Indian Institute of Scientific Heritage in Thiruvananthapuram and the National Heritage Centre. His activity of interest mainly included Structural Dynamics, Earthquake Engineering, and experimentation in structural engineering, monitoring structural health, and reinforced concrete structures. Â
