Ajay Gopal

Ajay Gopal is a prominent playback singer and music composer in the Malayalam film industry and has a music career spanning over three decades. He has sung in many films like Radio Madhav (2019), Padmavyuhathile Abhimanyu (2019), Ideal Couple (2012), Breaking News Live (2013), and many more.  He was born on April 28, 1975, to his parents, Gopalan and Devaki, and has two siblings, Biji and Viji. He completed his schooling at Perambra Higher Secondary School and his college education in Malayalam from Sree Narayana Guru Sree Narayan Guru is a Malayalam TV Serial. In 1993, he became a playback singer when he was just 18 years old. Over the years, he was trained by various musical legends like Sukumaran Bhagavathar, Meppayur Sukumaran Master, Kavumvattam Vasudevan Master, and Premkumar Vadakra. He became a household name after emerging as the 2009 year winner of the singing reality show Patturumal.

For his singing talent and ability, he has won many awards-Best Singer of the Year 2010, Middle East Best Singer Award of the Year 2015, and many more. In 2017, he founded an arts and culture research institution, Sabarmati to improve various art forms in Kerala. 

As of 2023, he is now the director of the institution. On the personal front, he married Babitha Prakash and has two children, Arav and Ajay.
