. Shonda has been the writer, creator and executive producer of TV series like Grey's Anatomy, How To Get Away with Murder and Private Practice among others. Bruce L. Paisner, Academy President & CEO said that this award was to praise her for her creative mind and artistic views about life. Shonda had won the audience over, with the various heart- wrenching episodes in her first TV series Grey's Anatomy and then went on to amaze the audience, with her other shows.
She is known as the Queen of Thursday nights and has been in the top 100 list of the most influential people in the TIME Magazine twice. Recently, she commented about not being interested in the #OscarsSoWhite debacle stating that she was not very interested in that particular issue because the problems don’t arise out of award shows. The 44th International EMMY Awards Gala will take place on 21st November 2016 in NYC.
