The film revolves around two rebels, who feel the Portuguese slave trade, and take refuge in an abandoned mansion, only to realize that they have run into deeper trouble. The film got a theatrical release on 15 February and was received extremely well by both the critics and the audience.
It was further released in Telugu and Tamil, and the film was equally successful in the Tamil circuit. However, it didn’t generate as much revenue, as another Malayalam film, ‘Manjummel Boys’, did. Made on a budget of almost 28 crores, the film was a commercial success, earning more than Rs. 53 crores worldwide.
With that, ‘Bramayugam’ became the 3rd consecutive commercial success for Mollywood after ‘Premalu’ and ‘Manjummel Boys’.
