The American movie ‘ Now You See Me’ hit the screens in 2013. The movie falls into the category of a thriller movie. The movie’s director is Louis Leterrier. The movie has actors like Jesse Eisenberg, Melanie Laurent, and Morgan Freeman. The movie went on the screens on May 31st, 2013. Jesse Eisenberg does the role of a street magician, Isla Fisher does the role of her former assistant, Woody Harrelson does a hypnotist. Dave Franco does the role of an artist. Mark Buffalo has done the role of a gruff agent. Melanie Laurent has done the role of an Interpol agent.
Plot: The plot unfolds with attractive magician Atlas, whose character has been played by Jesse Eisenberg. He is the leader of a team of gifted mentalists. The team is named Four Horsemen. The magician gets his audiences into a trance. He exploits the corrupt people and provides financial help to the audience members. There was a twist in the story when the federal agent played by Mark Ruffalo plan to capture the magician with his troop. But, the agent needs help from Thaddeus. The movie unfolds with the street magician and, his former assistant who practices bloody stunts. Also, the hypnotist in the movie is not better off. The hypnotist spends his time by getting people hypnotized. There are three features in magic as ‘The Pledge’, ‘The Turn’, and ‘ The Prestige’. The features as The Pledge and The Turn are wonderful aspects of the movie. The plot goes one year ahead in time. There are bizarre happenings as robbing a bank while staging a magic show in the city of Las Vegas.
The plot has been handled deftly. The art of deception is quite good. But, the twists in the movie do not impress the audiences. There is no answer to some doubts as the final act is staged. The audiences in the movie applaud, and no sooner than the applauses ceases, the movie audiences realize that the movie lacks something essential. The movie is a good entertainer. But, it lacks weight and is ultimately very silly. There was a mixed response for the movie. The movie reviewers criticized the movie for the slipshod story and climax. But, the performance by the actors won much acclaim. The script also was appreciated. Although there were innumerous criticisms, the movie turned out to be a box-office hit. A sequel to the movie is set for release on June 10, 2016.
Verdict: The audiences may not be spellbound by the movie, but at least, it is an entertainer for the weekend.
