As executive producer he started his career in Hollywood with the film American Psycho in 2000 starring Christian Bale, Willem Dafoe, and Jared Leto. The film became a success at the box office. In 2004 he again associated with a film named Herold And Kumar as executive producer. The film was produced by his friend and today's partner Nathan Kahane and also became part of horror flick The Grudge. In 2002, Joseph started a production company named Ghost House Pictures with Nathan Kahane, Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert. And they produced their first horror film Boogeyman in the year 2005; which became a commercial success worldwide. In the same year he became part of the film Lords of the Dogtown which was a great disaster at the box-office. He was associated as executive producer of the film.

Nathan also showed his interest towards T.V. and in 2009 he produced a T.V. series named 13: Fear Is Real Joseph Drake which became a successful a move for him. His Harold and Kumar franchises became a huge success and his critically, commercially acclaimed film Juno made him more successful.
