Kannada Movie Review Ranganayaka - Cast & Crew

Meenakshi is a popular, talented and young Tamil television actress who is also seen acting in a few small character roles in Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada movies alongside her television appearances and ad commercials. Meenakshi is popularly by her full name, i.e., Thanga Meenakshi. She is also known popularly by the name Rachitha, which she uses as her official name. Her original family name is Mahalakshmi, but she appears on Tamil Tele serials with the name of Thanga Meenakshi.

Chaithra Kotoor is a fashion model and Kannada film performing artist, song lyricist, andscriptwriter. She has been brought up in a middle-class Hindu family and belongs to Kappa social class. Chaitra Kotoor’s prior title was Prakruthi Poorvi. Since childhood, she had a profound intrigue in composing stories. Hence, amid her graduation, she picked a fictional story and made a movie scripture that made her famous in college. After graduation, she got shifted to Bangalore and begun to function as a junior with a Kannada-based story essayist. In the year 2019, She made her first appearance in a Kannada dialect motion picture, Soojidara.

Guruprasad is a prominent film actor, writer and director in the Kannada film industry. Guruprasad is a scientist in the Hindustan Lever but he chose to follow his passion and enter the film industry. He is now known as a director who depicts realistic story line in his films. He started his career in the year 2006 as a director in the Cult Hit Kannada film Mata, from which he also made a cameo appearance. This was followed by his next film entitled Eddelu Manjunatha. Both films earned rave reviews and got nominated for many award categories. Eddelu Manjunatha gained him the Best Director Award at the 57th Filmfare Awards South and the Best Screenplay Award at the Karnataka State Film Awards. 

Imran’s story is that of heart melting, emotional and romantic drama. Overcoming the obstacle of parental and societal opposition he eloped as a teenager. Before leaving, he promised his ladylove that he would return only after making something of himself. Well, he didn’t let her down. Born on 28th December 1979 to late Haji Ayub, Imran Sardhariya is a well-known choreographer and a film director of the Telugu and Kannada cinema. His wife Saniya is a costume designer. His shot to fame has been with the famous song ‘Stylo Stylo’. To add to his list of accomplishments, he has about 250 songs accredited to him and also the choreography of two Telugu movies – Josh and Chalaaki.

Yogaraj Bhat was born on 8th October, 1973 in Mandarthi, in coastal district Udupi of Karnataka. He is the 7th child of Ramachandra and Jayalakshmi Bhat. Ramachandra lost his life in a boat mishap.

Yogaraj is a famous director in Sandalwood industry. He has also tasted success as a lyricist, producer and screenwriter. He is mostly known for his 2006 hit Mungaru Male, which was written by Bhat along with Preetam Gubbi. He directed the film and wrote lyrics with others. Mungaru Male recorded the highest box office collections in Sandalwood history. His other achievements include introducing talented technicians to the industry like Pawan Kumar of Lucia, Pawan Wadeyar and many others.

His lyricist journey started with Mungaru Maleye from his film Mungaru Male and there was no looking back. He has written lyrics for more than 100 super hit songs for the films such as Gaalipata, Jackie, Junglee, Hudugaru, Paramathma, Pancharangi, Chingari, Super, Anna Bond, Crazy Loka, Shiva, Lifeu Ishtene, Johny Mera Naam, Victory and many more. He is so versatile that he can write a song like Mungaru Maleye and a fast one like Hale Paathre, showing his range of lyrical talent.

Bhat was inspired by classics like Francis Ford Coppola's The Godfather, Akira Kurosawa's Ran and came to Bangalore at 22, to become a cameraman. As a newcomer, he served as an assistant to Girish Kasaravalli, Sunil Kumar Desai and many others. He was more thrilled about watching film making at close quarters than working with big names.

Bhat directed a TV serial, before making his first film. But it took him 8 years, before a producer could back him independently. His first movie was Mani and that showed memorable performances by Rangayana Raghu and veteran actress Umashree, both won State awards for their roles in the movie. Then he directed Ranga SSLC (2004) starring Sudeep and Ramya in the leading roles, however it did not do very well.

His next film after a long break Mungaaru Male became the biggest hit in South India, creating a record and followed by another hit, Gaalipata. He also acted in the film Dyavre for one of his assistants, which started his acting career.
