CAST & CREW
Plot: In the tension-filled life a simple entertainer is what the audience wants. And that’s what
Jamna Pyari does exactly. There is definitely lack of logic in the film, but there are films which created ripples with the help of mere comedy; Jamna Pyari is one such film. What is “Janma Pyari” is the surprise element of the film.
It’s become a trend of Malayalam cinema nowadays to bring forth regional dialects in the film. Jamna Pyari has infused Thrissur slang and it has been really favorable. Thomas Sebastian is the director of this film and the direction is quite commendable. Comedy is the forte of this movie. This film has all the elements to be a commercial success. The script is above average.
The story of the film goes as follows: Vasootan is a very helpful person and this nature of him earns him friends as well as foes. He happens to help a family and this results in lot of obstacles. How he overcomes the hurdles with his wittiness forms the rest of the story.
Being expert in comedy, Kunchacko Boban has given a neat performance. Suraj, Neeraj Madhav and Aju Varghese has done a commendable job as far as comedy goes. It takes time to believe that Gayatri Suresh is a newcomer; she has delivered an outstanding performance.
The film does not give an overdose of inspirational thoughts; the thoughts are given in such a way that the audience likes it. Yes, there are some loopholes in the film, but it also has its share of significant episodes. The theme of the story may be strange but it should be appreciated for its novelty. The songs of the film are peppy and the camerawork is very effective.
The satire at new-gen talk is quite an overdose (and this is where the screenplay falters) but the film manages to rise above with its light-hearted comedy. To put it in a nutshell, Jamna Pyari is a family movie that can be watched once for only comedy.
