Pragathi Guruprasad was born in the year 1997 in Singapore to Guru Prasad and Kanaga. She learnt Carnatic music from the age of 5 through her father. Their family relocated to California and there she learnt the vocal Carnatic from Sangeetha Swaminathan. Sangeetha was the student of the popular Carnatic vocalist Sudha Ragunathan. Due to her passion in music, her father took her to Chennai to participate in Airtel Super Singer, which was organized by Star Vijay TV. Pragathi’s talent was really enjoyed by the judges as well as the voice trainer Ananth Padmanabhan.
