Maalavika Sundar is an Indian Singer, Actor, YouTuber, and a model. Her journey with music started when she was merely 2 and a half years old. She quotes that, it was the time when she started to sing along MS Subbulakshmi’s Hanuman Chalisa and the other classic cassettes that her family listened to. She regards Srimathi Padmavathi Ananthagopalan, the younger sister of Lalgudi Jayaraman as her Guru. She was so emotionally attached to her Guru that when her dad talked about moving to New Delhi, she refused and said that she wanted to stay in Chennai and continue her passion for learning music.

Shreya Ghoshal, one of the most famous singers in Bollywood today, was born on March 12th, 1984, in Berhampore, West Bengal. Her father Biswajit Ghoshal is an electrical engineer and mother Sharmistha Ghoshal is a postgraduate in literature. She started singing since the age of 4 when her mother taught her. She started her formal training in Hindustani classical Gharana of music when she was only six years old. She was trained for 18 months after which she continued her training in Mumbai with Late Mukta Bhideji. She completed her graduation in Arts with majors in English. Her first on-stage performance was at their club’s annual function. Her first studio album was in Bengali in 19998 and was named Bendhechhi Beena, and her first onscreen performance was in Awaz Nayi Andaaz Wohi. In 1995, she became the winner of All India Light Vocal Music Competition. Her fame and career began with her winning a television singing reality show named Sa Re Ga Ma Pa.

Films came to Lakshmi Menon at an age when she hadn’t started thinking about her career. Impressed by her dance show on TV, Malayalam director Vinayan offered her a role in his film. She got her break in Raghuvinte Swantham Raziya when she was in her eighth class. Soon, she played a lead role with Vineeth in Ideal Couple, directed by Ali Akbar. It was a year later when she got her first break in Tamil movie Kumki (2012) that made her lucky mascot in Kollywod. When she was running high on a success wave with Kumki, her next film, Naan Sigappu Manithan (2012) with Vishal made her as the rising star in Kollywood.  

Today, she is known as the girl with the Midas touch, whose very presence in any film guarantees a hit. At age of 19, she has attained the dizzy heights of stardom as her successful films Sundarapandian, Pandiya Naadu, Naan Sigappu Manithan, Manjapai and Jigarthanda proves it so. She is also acting with Ajith as his sister in Thala 56 which is due for release in Diwali. It is reported that she has sung a song in an upcoming film 'Filter Coffee' directed by Raghav with debutant Rama Subramanian as the music director. This star was born to a Dubai-based artist Ramakrishnan and dance teacher Usha Menon. She started dance at her age of 3 and learnt Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi and Kathakali. As a teenage girl, she also took her modeling career seriously and appeared in TV advertisements (Fair and Lovely& Josco jeweler). She has passed her plus two exam and she has joined a popular institute in Bengaluru to learn Fashion design technology where she will have to attend 100 days of regular classes. 

She had taken this decision so that she can concentrate even in acting seriously.

Kovai Sarala is an actress who acted in more than 750 films in her career spanning for over 25 years. She has acted in Tamil (even Telugu films) and had joined films as she was the sole bread earner in the family. Many feel that she filled the void left by Manorma and she is the only actress who had stepped in her( Manorama) shoes. In this film industry, Sarala could carry scenes on her own merits. There was a time; she would be seen in every successful movie (just as Manorama) during 1980-90s. Looking back at her career, she played a 55-year old character in Chinna Veedu( her second film) when she was just a teenager. Everyone had wondered how she played that role. She even played the unforgettable character of Palani as Kamal Haasan’s wife in Balu Mahendra’s Sathi Leelavathi. Both Kamal and Balu Mahendra too had complimented her for this role and it is her best role till date. 

Then she was seen as a lover of Sathyaraj in couple of films which were declared hit (Karagattakaran, Kaalam Maari Pochu, Periya Manushan). The greatest asset in her performance was that, she never told any vulgar lines in her comedy dialogues. At least she preferred not to do this kind of comedy at all in any of her film. Although she is a Malayalee by birth, she gained popularity in Tamil film industry only. Recently, she had acted in two successful movies such as ‘Kanchana-2’ and ‘Komban’, which was a box-office winner and people had watched her antics and appreciated her comedy. This versatile actress had learnt acting through theater participation in Coimbatore before she made her break in movies. For her family’s sake, she remained unwedded to anybody, but yet she faced many struggles with her relatives who cheated and even have emptied her bank accounts.

S R Prakash Babu started his career as a producer with Studio Green, which also had Gnanavel Raja and “S R Prabhu.” He produced various films, among which Singam tasted a great success.  Prakash Babu is the nephew of veteran Tamil actor “Sivakumar.” Suriya Sivakumar and Karthik Sivakumar are his cousins. Most of his films are with Suriya and Karthi. In 2010, S R Prakash Babu teamed up with his brother S R Prabhu to lay down the foundation of Dream Warrior Pictures, a production company based in Chennai. This company deals with film production as well as film distribution. Dream Warrior Pictures had produced eight films of different genres. “Saguni” starring Karthi and Pranitha Subhash was the first project of Dream Warrior Pictures. “Kaashmora,” the movie starring “Nayantara” and Karthi is a horror-comedy movie with huge video effects.

Madhu Balakrishnan is an Indian playback singer. He sings in Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil and Tulu languages. Madhu Balakrishnan was born on 24th June, in the year 1974. The singer does playback singing for south Indian films. Balakrishnan began his singing career in the year 1999 and since then, sung in several films. He has also been a judge on Malayalam singing reality shows. Apart from doing playback singing, Madhu Balakrishnan has also released a few solo albums.

VM Mahalingam is an Indian playback singer. He works predominately in the Tamil film industry. He hails from Tamil Nadu, India. He is a Kollywood playback singer. His height is 5 meter 8 cm. His hair color is black, and has an average body type. Heis a Hindu by religion and his nationality is Indian. He has sung a lot of songs un popular movies like Natpe Thunai, Maari 2.

Velmurgan is a Play Back Singer in Tamil Film Industry. He was born on 5 March 1980 in Viruthachalam, Tamil Nadu. Velmurgan is a singer, actor, musician, and lyricist. He entered the Tamil film industry in the year 2007. He had sung many folk songs, which include Madura in Subramaniapuram and the Otha Sollala in Aadukalam.

K Veera Samar is an art director in the Indian Film Industry who mainly works in the Telugu film industry. He is from the Southern part of India. He worked in the film named as “Komban” under the direction of M Muthaiah and production of KE Gnanavel Raja, SR Prabhu, and SR Prakash Babu with the production company called Studio Green and production manager SM Sirajudeen. It got released in the theatres on 1st April 2015.

Karthik Sivakumar, or popularly known as Karthi, is a prominent film actor, who predominantly works in the Tamil film industry. He was born on May 25, 1977, in Madras, Tamil Nadu, India, to Tamil actor, Sivakumar and Lakshmi. He studied at Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan, and later attended St. Bede’s Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School in Chennai. He obtained a degree in Mechanical Engineering at the Crescent Engineering College in Chennai. Post graduation, he started working as an Engineering Consultant in the city and pursued higher education abroad. During those times, Karthi was earning 5000 every month, until he thought that he wanted to do something more. He had his scholarship in the USA and studied at Binghamton University in New York, where he took Master of Science in Industrial Engineering. While doing his masters, he also studied filmmaking. Karthi worked as a graphic designer for a short period of time in New York, and then, he decided to pursue his career in film direction. He took two courses at the State University of New York and studied basic filmmaking.

Karunas is a popular comedian, musician, and producer and Tamil actor. He was born as Karunanidhi Sethu on February 21, 1970, in Peravurani, Thanjavur in Tamil Nadu, India. He studied at Palangudi Bharati School and moved to Nandaman Arts, Presidency College later on. Karunas started his career as a dancer and pop singer who worked in the Tamil folk music.

Raj Kiran is one of the well-known director, actor, and producer in Telugu film industry. He is known for the works that he has done in the industry. He started his career as an extra fighter in the year 1980 with I.V. Sasi’s bilingual film, Kaali; followed by the 1983 Tamil film, Thoongathey Thambi Thoongathey. Super has been in the industry for more than two decades and has worked with several leading actors in Kollywood. Initially, he wanted to become a teacher, but it did not happen. His passion for martial arts led him to enter the tinsel town.

Vela Ramamoorthy is an Indian actor and writer who predominantly worked in Tamil film industry. He was born in Perunali, Ramanathapuram, Tamil Nadu in India. He has done his schooling from KHN High School, Perunali and he is also a Pre University Course graduate. He served in Indian army for 5 long years and also in a post office before starting his acting career. He got married to Kaliammal on 11th March 1976. He won Best Villain Award presented by Vikatan Magazine for his outstanding portrayal of an antagonist in the movie “Kidaari.”

M. Muthaiah is an Indian film director and screenwriter who has worked in Tamil films. His genre had been consistently working on a film project that had mainly village themes.

K L Praveen whose full name is Kuchipudi Latha Praveen is a famous Indian film editor who has worked with many notable directors. Praveen mainly works in the Kollywood industry and has showcased his editing skills in many popular movies and has received accolades for the same. The Andhra Pradesh born editor wanted to pursue a degree in Bio-Technology when he was 17 but unfortunately the number of seats was already full for the course. He had an entire year on his hand and didn't wish to waste that time without doing anything productive. As a result, he started learning to edit in some studios. G. V. Prakash Kumar is the new Kollywood singer who, after earning a good name in the music industry, made his acting debut with Pencil opposite Sri Divya, but the project got delayed. His next film Darling got released earlier. Darling was a remake of Telugu film Prema Katha Chitram, which became popular. His third film is going to be in Telugu and Tamil. Telugu film titled Trisha Ledha Nayanthara and Tamil titled Trisha Illana Nayanthara will be released in September 17, 2015. As a music composer, he already made a huge impact in Tamil Cinema. He was a vocalist on the soundtrack for A R Rahman’s score in Gentleman. Prakash made a contribution to Rahman’s numerous projects. He worked with Harris Jayaraj and sang two popular songs in Anniyan and Unnale Unnale, but he got the break as a full-fledged composer in Tamil film Veyil. The composer made even Dhanush to sing for a song” Voda Voda Voda” and even recorded some songs with his wife Saindhavi.

A young brain deeply rooted in Indian music, his talent needs no mention, but when a singer, composer makes a mark in acting as a hero, it is indeed a milestone in the cine world. Very few had achieved this status, one being legendary playback singer Kishore Kumar. G. V. Prakash Kumar is married to Saindhavi, who is also a playback singer.

Inivalappil Mani Vijayan is a well-known Indian footballer and a film actor. He was born in Thrissur village of Kerala state in the year 1969. He was a hardworking man, and he used to sell soda at Thrissur Municipal Corporation Stadium in his earlier days to assist his family financially. Although he was destitute and had no financial assistance, he never gave up the dream of playing football. He was very much interested in football, and he was given a chance to play for the Kerala police club by the  Kerala DGP M. K. Joseph.

K E Gnanavel Raja popularly known as Gnanavel is a multi talented personality in Tamil film industry. Gnanavel Raja is the son of Kousalya and V K Eswaran. He was born and brought up in Chennai. He got his introduction into the world of movies through his exposure during the college days. He is the uncle of the famous  and acclaimed Tamil actors Suriya and Karthi.

Thambi Ramaiah, an Indian film actor, and director is considered as the busiest actors in Kollywod appearing in maximum movies that released in 2014. Once upon a time, he did not even how to make a foray into Kollywood. Anticipating for someone to give a chance in films, he had to wait till his luck could get him a status of an actor.
