Michael Loceff was a writer, screenplay writer, and co-executive producer for the Fox television network's blockbuster series “24.” The series aired from 1992 to 1996. After the writer's strike, he quit the show after six and a half seasons. Michael Loceff is a well-known and wealthy screenwriter.

In the first season of "24," the trio reunited as writers. Loceff also served as a co-producer on the movie. In 2004, he ascended to the position of co-executive producer. After the Writers Guild of America strike in 2008, he quit the show. He walked away from successful writing and producing career. Later, he became a full-time lecturer at Foothill College in Los Altos Hills, California. He taught online computer science courses to his students.

Loceff is one of the Emmy Award winners for the 24 series in 2006. He previously worked on La Femme Nikita alongside fellow 24 producers Joel Surnow, Robert Cochran, Jon Cassar, Brad Turner, and Peter Lenkov. He is Joel Surnow's cousin. Michael was appointed as a computer science professor at the prestigious “Foothill College” in Los Altos Hills, California. He is no longer employed.

A character used the secret password "Etudes," the name of his online teaching software, in an earlier episode of the series.

Loceff began writing on Surnow and Robert Cochran's La Femme Nikita. Before becoming a writer and producer, he served as a technical consultant. He's a mathematician and a computer scientist by training. Loceff splits his time between his Seattle home and Los Angeles. He built an apartment near the set of 24 after working as a writer and co-producer for the first season.

Loceff stated that his favorite character to write is Chloe O'Brian. At CTU, he polished scenes in episodes, focusing on character connections. He and Surnow left the show during the 2007 WGA strike, with "Day 7: 2:00 pm-3:00 pm" being their last episode.
