Gayathri Govind

She is trained in Indian Classical Nritya, choreographer par excellence, actor, and won the trophy at Asianet’s Vodafone Thakadimi. Her areas of strong interest are Bharatanatyam, Mohiniyattam, Kuchipudi, Kathak, Kathakali and Keralanadanam. Gayathri Govind can be called the maestro of Indian classical Dance. She owns a dance troupe, “Silver Streak” with its base at Trivandrum. Having hosted many shows at important channels such as Asianet, Surya TV, Doordarshan, and Asianet News, she is a veteran in the field. She is the brand face of “Society Tea” and has a dynamic personality of her own.16th October 2015 is an important date as she won the Golden Women Award in Helsinki, Finland, for being exemplary at Entertainment, Media, and Communication. She runs a successful dance school named “Takadhimi” at Chennai and Trivandrum.

She has gracefully performed Mohiniyattam and Kuchipudi dance styles for the highly acclaimed Soorya Festival in 2012 and 2013. Gayathri also participated in the eminent Soorya Production ‘Gaandharam’. Her dance dramas are named Aadiparasakthi and Bhavasamhita. She is highly educated and enlightened as she completed her degree in Dance and “Healing with the Arts” ( understanding earth’s and nature’s artistic healing power) from the University of Florida. She believes that knowledge should not have any constraints. Thus she teaches Classical Dance on her YouTube channel.
