It’s been more than a month, and ‘Manjummel Boys’ is just refusing to stop.
The movie is officially the highest grossing movie in the history of Malayalam cinema, with a huge collection of over 230 crores. Yet, the movie refuses to slow down, and can possibly break the 250 crore barrier as well?
How so? Recently, the Telugu version of ‘Manjummel Boys’ has been released. The response for this movie has been insane, with more than 30000 tickets booked within the first few hours of the release. This is when another major Malayalam movie, ‘Aadujeevitham’, has been released in the Malayalam circuit.
However, with its Telugu release, ‘Manjummel Boys’ might do the same magic as it did in the Tamil circuit. At a time when other movies failed to earn even 10 crores in the opening week, the Tamil version of this movie earned more than 50 crores, which is a record in itself for any Malayalam movie. This has also silenced those critics, who were unjustly accusing the Telugu audiences of ignoring quality movies, just because ‘Aadujeevitham’ didn’t click in the Telugu region.
