Sekhar Menon

Sekhar Menon was born on 5th June 1984 (age 32). He was born in Kochi, Kerala, India. He has a degree in Sound Engineering from Chennai. He is a disc jockey and an actor principally working in Malayalam. Sekhar Menon has performed at over 500 times, mostly in Kochi. He has a daughter born on June 2013. In 2001, Sekhar started playing as a disc jockey (DJ) in a small pub called “Formula 1.” It was Shekhar’s first permanent job as a Disk Jockey. He had been an enthusiastic fan of funk, hip-hop, house, soul and R&B, genres that weren’t very popular commercially, since 1998. It was not easy to acquire music, yet Sekhar did his preparation. He has played at all the clubs in the city and is currently at Ava Lounge (Dream Hotel). Sekhar has earlier worked with “Aashiq Abu” in his offbeat blockbuster “ Salt N Pepper Salt and Pepper is a Malayalam cookery and travel >> Read More... ”, for which he did the official remix of rock band Avial’s track “Aana kallan”.

Sekhar is presently doing the remix for another Avial track, “Aiyyo”, along with fellow DJs Nash and Shankar. The triad calls themselves as “Merchant of Groove”. He played the role of Luke John in his debut film “Da Thadiya”, 2012. Sekhar made “Kadal Kadannoru Mathukkutty”, “Camel Safari”, “Ezhu Sundara Rathrikal” and “Bicycle Thieves” in 2013.
