Vineeth

Vineeth, is the nephew of yesteryear actress Padmini  and cousin of actress Shobana. He had grown to be a classical dancer due to inspiration that he got from aunt Padmini. It was Ragini (sister of  Padmini)  who saw him dancing at age of  four,  and both Padmini and Ragini, had  instructed Vineeth’s parents to send him to a dancing school. Since then his journey into dancing had begun and even today dancing is his just a passion and not a past time work.

Born to a father who was a lawyer and a mother who was a doctor, Vineeth  learnt dancing just because he enjoyed doing so and  because it gave him real pleasure. He had never thought of becoming a professional dancer or even actor. But everything had changed when he was just a tenth standard student learning dancing under Kalamandalam Saraswathi teacher, who mastered Vineeth the basic body language that enables one to take dance to the next level. 

It was Guru Sarswathi’s husband and a filmmaker Vasudevan Nair insisted him to take up acting and make a move towards cinema. Even today, his dancing skills were predominantly displayed in several films that he had acted. Take for instance the film Chandramukhi, it takes a dedicated dancer to communicate those feelings through dance to the audience( his dance with Jyothika).  Vineeth is of firm opinion that a dancer should live and experience the full spectrum of life. He is still indebted to his aunty Padmini who encouraged him to take up dancing seriously. This dancer entered the tinsel world with I. V. Sasi's 'Edanilangal' (1985), a Malayalam flick.  But it was only’ Nakhakshathangal’ in 1986, he met with real success as a star. In 1996, Vinneth acted  in ‘Kadal Desam’(Tamil)  along with Tabu and Abbas.  Earlier, he appeared in a few successful movies in Malayalam from 1987 to 1994. He had appeared in maximum Malayalam films. But his career did not pick up as expected.  

Yet Vineeth is an honest, straight forward, soft spoken, hardworking, sensitive person. He may not be merely ahead of times as far film success goes, but has a complete dimension of an actor and dancer, and can space himself well. He was born on August 23, 1969 to K. T. Radhakrishnan and Dr P. K. Shanthakumari in Kerala, and is settled in Chennai after marriage with Priscilla Menon. Dancing will remain always closer to his heart.
