Ignatius

Ignatius is a Malayalam film industry based music director. He and his brother Berny are known as Berny-Ignatius musical duo. Ignatius is a music composer, record producer, arranger, and instrumentalist. The brothers made their debut in 1981. Primarily know for their work in films like Thenmavin Kombath, Kottaram Veettil Apputtan, Chandralekha, etc., the brothers earned Kerala State Film Award for best music director in 1994. In the same year, they earned Kaumudi Awards, again for best music director. They won the Aimfill Inspire award for best music director and Jaycee foundation award for best Music Director in the year 2011 and 2010, respectively.

From 1992-2019 the brothers have worked as music directors for more than sixty films. They work on film score, soundtrack, theatre, world music, po and folk music. The brothers are very diverse and play instruments like Guitar, Electric Guitar, Hawaii Guitar, Mandolin, Oud, Banjo, Bulbul Tarang, Harmonium, Keyboard and Melodica. Some of their highly applauded songs are Kallipoonguyile, Mayilay Parannu Vaa, Poonilamazha Peythirangiya, Avani Ponnoonjal, Oru Kathilola, Thechippoove Thenagasi Poove, Ponnitta Pettakam, Puthumazhayayi Vannu, Thamarappoovii, etc. In April 2014,, the brothers and their family served a grand musical feast to the patients at the Government General Hospital. It was quite an emotional moment for the family.
