The passion and dedication for singing brought Mansoor close to the Vayalar family. He has been singing songs at Vayalar’s residence for the past fifteen years. His mother was a Muslim folklore singer, and she inspired him. His first performance was at 10. He had high interests in acting, music, painting, and mimicry. In the year 1988 to 1991, he has worked in a Drama troupe named Cochin Sanathana, directed by the Late Film Actor Rajan P Dev. Chorus Peter, the main singer of “Cochin Chorus” troupe, advised Mansoor to focus on singing rather than a drama as he had an excellent memory of memorizing songs and had an incredible voice to sing songs. And same advice was given to him by Unni Mennon when he performed with her in Mumbai. In 2006, Mansoor sang for continuous 5 hours, then again for 7 hours, and in the same year, he sang for continuously 10 hours. In 2007, he sang continuously for 15 hours. In 2012, Mansoor gave a tribute to Yesudas by singing 50 songs of his for completing 50 years of a musical journey. In 2013, Mansoor sang for the Vayalar’s 40th Death Anniversary, and after that, the Vayalar family gifted a ring inscribed as Vayalar to Mansoor. In 2016, he sang a hundred songs of Vayalar for 10 hours, and in the same year, he gave a tribute to lyricist Sreekumaran Thampi as his journey of 50 years.
