Divya S. Iyer

Divya S. Iyer is a multi-talented personality – an IAS officer, a doctor by education, a passionate writer, a trained singer, and an actor. There couldn't be any other perfect example than Divya S. Iyer for the term epitome of versatility. Divya S. Iyer was born to Sesha Iyer, an ex-senior administrative officer in Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre, and Bhagavthy Ammal, works in State Bank Of Travancore, on October 16, 1984, in Trivandrum. She has a sister Nithya who is a software engineer. Divya S.Iyer studied at Holy Angel's Convent Higher Secondary School in Trivandrum.

Divya Iyer has always been named as an outstanding student in her school days and shined in all sorts of extra-curricular activities like dancing, acting, singing, etc. Divya Iyer topped her SLC examination by securing the third rank. She always dreamed of becoming an IAS officer. She then went on to study medicine at the Christian Medical College, Vellore, and worked as a Neurologist in CMC for a year. After a year, Divya Iyer began her preparations for civil service examinations. It's her medical profession that inspired her to take up the job as a civil servant so that she can serve people.

In 2012, Divya S. Iyer gave her first attempt for the UPSC Civil Services Exam and cleared it in the first attempt by securing AIR 139 and 9th rank in Kerala. Following the AIR 139, Divya S. Iyer got posted in the Indian Revenue Service. Not pleased with her performance in the first attempt, Divya Iyer prepared for her second attempt and wrote the UPSC Civil Services Exam 2014. As a result of her hard work, she cracked the exam with AIR 48 and posted as the sub-collector of Kottayam district with the rooster system. Divya S. Iyer is also a prominent writer with two books written and edited by her. While her prepping days, she eventually ended up writing a book for IAS aspirants in the name Pathfinder.

She edited a book called Applied Diplomacy – Through the prism of Mythology. Besides writing, Divya S. Iyer is an actor. She appeared in the Doordarshan channel when she was five years old and had always been fond of acting. Divya S. Iyer portrayed a nun’s role, who runs a nursing home in her debut film Eliyammachiyude Adyathe Christmas in 2017. Divya Iyer is happily married to MLA K.S. Sabarinathan and the couple has a son named Malhar.
