was yearning for: respect. The film has earned a whopping 90 crores in only the first week, making it a bonafide superhit.
However, the film is also in the news for different reasons. The movie has ignited a virtual war between Tamil and Telugu fans.
But why? ‘Aadujeevitham’ released in multiple languages. While it is doing extremely well in the Malayalam, as well as the Tamil circuits, it is not the same in the Telugu region. The dark comedy ‘Tillu Square’ dominated the Telugu markets, giving negligible space to ‘Aadujeevitham’.
This left some Tamilian fans unimpressed, who mocked the Telugu fans for their ‘poor taste’. Some social media handles accused the Telugu fans of practicing double standards in terms of their film choices.
However, a simple look at the trade figures of ‘Aadujeevitham’ reveal that the film didn’t do very well in the Tamil circuit either, having collected only 5 crores so far. Some local trade analysts also revealed that the parameters are different for different films. Not every film would be relatable to every region.
Meanwhile, ‘Aadujeevitham’ is well on course to earn 100 crores within the second weekend. This would be the 3rd film after ‘Manjummel Boys’ and ‘Premalu’ to have earned more than 100 crores worldwide in this year.
