Viraat Gupta is an Indian poet and short film director. He is also known as Shahanshah Gupta. He hails from Batauli, a small village 30 km away from Ambikapur in Chhattisgarh in India. From Childhood, he was fascinated by cinema.

He completed his schooling from Punjab, India.He always used to take part in certain extra co-curricular activities like drawing, dance,and acting competitions.

He later did a course in animation from the Institute in Chennai. He worked as an assistant director for a short film earlier and then he started working for feature films. He has also worked as a voice-over artist in numerous Tamil movies for dubbingin Hindi.

He also works as a creative executive, filmmaker, Line producer, and post-production coordinator. Talking about genres of short films,Viraat Gupta says, “ I want to make short movies which make a positive impact on society .”His inspirational filmmakers are Akira Kurosawa and Shyam Benegal.
