He has owned one Tamil Satellite TV Channel named Vasanth TV. He has started his career by being a Salesman in the early 90s. After many years of hard work and passion, finally, in the year 1978, he started a home appliance showroom named Vasanth & Co. With time this chain has emerged on a high scale and has gained a huge number of customers.

He is also much passionate about writing. On 17th September 2017, he has launched his book, Vetripadi Kattu, with the hands of the most talented actor named as Rajinikanth and his wife, Latha Rajnikanth.

Vasanthakumar’s next book Vettripadikattu was released in Chennai on 15th February 2015. Vasanthakumar had been the sponsor of the cookery show, Saapida Vaanga, on DD Podhigai. Besides being a sponsor, he judged the show.

Vasanthakumar was infected with Coronavirus and was admitted to a private hospital in Chennai on 11^th August 2020. His body couldn’t recuperate to the medications and he breathed his last on 28^th August 2020 at 7:00 pm.
