He directed the films Jurassic World in 2015 and Safety Not Guaranteed in 2012, which got him nominated for Independent Spirit Award for Best First Feature. This movie was inspired by an Ad on the Backwoods Home Magazine issued in 1997. After the release of this movie, he was hired by the Walt Disney Company to remake the movie “Flight of the Navigator.” He is going to direct Star Wars Episode IX, which is estimated to be released in 2019.In September 2015, he directed The Book of Henry.
