Tamil Movie Review Maari 2 - Cast & Crew

The woman who lit up every man’s heart during the movie Premam (2015), they were heart beats that batted in sync with the batting of her eyelashes, her smile that plastered smiles on every viewer’s face, the dance moves that surprised everybody, her husky voice, every single aspect about her during the movie made everyone, be it man or woman, sit glued to their seats. This Tamilnadu ponnu, born and brought up in Coimbatore, who played a mallu in the film ‘Premam’, who courageously appeared on screen with her pink pimples since Alphonse felt that it would be natural and also give the rest of the girls confidence about themselves, took Pallavi by surprise since she overcame her inferiority complex about her pimples as well.

Varalaxmi Sarathkumar is the elder daughter of actor cum politician ‘R Sarathkumar’ and ‘Chaya’ (Sarathkumar’s first wife). Varalaxmi Sarathkumar was born in Bengaluru in the year 1985. She has a younger sister called Pooja. Varalaxmi was interested to act in the films, and she was waiting for a good opportunity to enter the film industry. She made her debut to the film industry through the Tamil film ‘Podaa Podi’ opposite ‘Silambarasan’. This movie was released in the year 2012, and Varu got a good appreciation for her performance in that movie. She acted in a slightly negative role that brought her good criticism from the film critics as well as from the audience.

Vidya Pradeep completed her M.Tech. Her love of research lured her to pursue her education one step further. Now she is in her final year of Ph.D.

Chinnaponnu was born in Suranam in Sivagangai District in Tamil Nadu, India. As a child of thirteen years old, she actively participated in several temple festivals and churches. After that, she started to sing in the troupe of Artist Kottaisamy as a professional singer. She used to say him as her mentor. Balaji Mohan is a director by profession. He is famous for his films like Love Failure and Kadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Yeppadi. Balaji was nominated for SIIMA Best Debutant Director Award. He was born on 25 May 1987 in Trichy, Tamil Nadu. Balaji attended Campion Anglo-Indian Higher Secondary School and later went to study engineering at Sri Sivasubramaniya Nadar College of Engineering. He got married to his childhood love, Aruna in July 2012. He was always interested in directing films and in fulfilling his dream; he even left engineering and went for making movies instead.

This lanky superstar Dhanush is an actor from Tamil cinema but has appeared in two Hindi films too. He credits R Balki and Anand L Rai for making him consider acting in Hindi films (‘Shamitaabh’ and ‘Raanjhana’). In the year 2011-12, his song  “Why This Kolaveri Di’’ continued to rise on the charts and gain millions of viewers on YouTube. Dhanush happens to be the youngest actor to receive the national film award for his performance in “Aadukalam”. 

Ilaiyaraaja is a renowned film composer, known around the world for his finest works. With more than 5000 songs, he is known to be one of the best composers India has yet to produce. Ilaiyaraaja is also widely acknowledged as a songwriter, conductor, singer, and instrumentalist. Ilaiyaraaja’s works stand out particularly due to his talent for fusing traditional Indian instrumentation with symphonic orchestration.

Stunt Silva was born in Tuticorin, TamilNadu. He started his career as a male nurse after getting trained in Stanley Medical College. Silva worked as a Ward boy in Tuticorin hospital. Later he joined in Vijaya Health Center in Chennai by the year 1990. To maintain his family’s financial status, he worked in several sectors such as Peon in offices and dabbled in transport sector business offices. He then joined in the background dancer of the film under the guidance and advice of the Dance

Krishna Sekhar is a Tamil Actor. He is the brother of the noted film director, Vishnuvardhan. After limited appearances as a child actor in several films like Anjali, Iruvar and The Terrorist, actor  Krishna Sekhar made his film debut with a leading role in  Ali Baba in 2008.  After several critically and commercially successful films as a child actor, he starred as an adult hero in his fathers’ production ‘Alibaba’. 

Robo Shankar is an upcoming comedian artiste in the Tamil cinema who was noticed as a mimicry artist in ‘’Rowtrhiram’’, that released in 2011. But while editing the movie, his role was cut fully, and the actor could not get any recognition. 

Tovino Thomas is a well-known face in the Malayalam Film Industry. He is an eminent model and actor in Mollywood. He has a huge female fan following owing to his muscular physique and smart personality. He was voted as the most desirable man in the newspaper Kochi Times, a subset of the Times of India. He was born into a Roman Catholic family in Irinjalakuda, Kerala. His father, Ellikal Thomas, is an advocate, and he has an elder brother, Tingston, and a sister, Dhanya. Tovino studied in Irinjalakuda at the Don Bosco High School and then moved to Coimbatore to finish his college. He obtained his graduation degree in engineering, majoring in the field of electronics in Coimbatore from the Tamil Nadu College of Engineering. After finishing college, he started working as a software engineer at Cognizant Technology Solutions for a few years. Thomas is a fitness freak and has been modeling since his college days. He has also done a few short films among which his roles in Grisaille and Jaalakam were appreciated widely. Sajeevan Anthikad spotted him upon seeing these short movies and advertisements and cast him in his first movie Prabhuvinte Makkal in the year 2012.

Sachin Sudhakaran was born in Kozhikode, Kerala, India. He went to the Indian School in Muscat, Oman. Then pursued a Bachelor of Tectechnology from Model Engineering College, Kochi, India, and then he completed a Diploma in Sound Engineering from the School of Audio Engineering (SAE) in Chennai, India.

Kali Venkat hails from a rural village named Kovilpatti in Tamil Nadu from where he came to Chennai to pursue his acting career. M. M. Manasi – The versatile playback singer, who started her singing career in the movies at the age of 9. She was born on 8th January 1993 and her native place is Chennai. She was trained for 15 years in Hindustani vocal. Though her hometown was Chennai, she was brought up in Mumbai. She started to learn the music at the age of 2. Her first performances were during the festivals such as Navaratri and Ganapathi Chaturthi. Her family encouraged her a lot, and good encouragement can go a long way. Manasi has mentioned her t parents' encouragement in a lot of interviews and stages. Her inspiration was K. Pop and Ilayaraja. She is not only a playback singer but she is also a dubbing artist. She finished her studies in the D. g. Vaishnav College in Management.

Prabhu Deva is one among the populous cinema person in India. He was born in the year 1973 in Mysore to Sundaram. Sundaram is a popular dance master in South India. Prabhu Deva entered the film industry at the early age. He has assisted his father in the film Vetri Vizha, in which Kamal Hassan and Prabhu did the lead roles. He appeared in Raja song along with Karthik Muthuraman, in the film Agni Natchathiram, a Mani Ratnam movie. He started his career in the film industry as a dancer and choreographer and later, developed himself as an actor. He made his debut as a hero through, Kadhalan, a Shankar movie. This movie was a super hit with the super songs by A. R. Rahman.

Om Prakash is one of the Tamil cinematographers. He was born on January 26, 1978, in Coimbatore, TamilNadu, India. Besides being cinematographer is a passionate actor too. He has been working as the director of photography since the age of 25 and much younger times. He has worked on many projects in this field and has many years of experience in making feature films. He made many documentaries that are very well published. He has done an over 500 advertising films. His passion towards cinema is huge which cannot be noted.
