CAST & CREW
The movie Pagiri is a hard-hitting film which poses some valid questions to the mindset of today’s youth. You have to watch the film to understand how farming plays an important role in the movie. Now, let’s quickly run through the various aspects of the movie.
Prabhu Ranaveran journeys to the city since he doesn’t get a job that is suitable to his Diploma in Agriculture. Here he takes a part-time job in a wine shop. He falls in love with Shravya but he starts to think about his future. Here, he decides to make his temporary job as permanent and hence plans to get a government job in the same wine shop. But for this he needs a huge amount. He decides to sell his agricultural land in his native place but this upsets his father Subramani, who is a farmer. Subramani asks Ranaveran to go away from the house and the visibly upset hero returns to the city. What happens next? Does Prabhu realize the importance of agriculture or try to get a permanent government in Tasmaac? Watch the movie to know.
Prabhu Ranaveran, who debuts with this film, slips into his role easily while Shravya is equally good. Adira, Ravi Mariya, A Venkatesh, T P Gajendran, Marimuthu, Super Good Subramani etc. have done their roles with utter conviction.
Though the movie deals iwth a serious concern the director Esakki Karvanan has interspersed comedy in the film. This is one of the highlights of the movie.
