MORE CAST & CREW
“Sarkar” is the political thriller flick directed by “A R Murugadoss.” The film has the astounding star cast of Thalapathy “ Vijay,” Keerthy Suresh, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, “ Prem,” Tulasi Shivamani, Radha Ravi, Pala Karuppaiah and Yogi Babu. “A R Rahman” composed the music and Girish Gangadharan cranked the camera. The editing department is cared by Sreekar Prasad. Kalanithi Maran of Sun Pictures produced the film on a large scale.
A biggie NRI visits India to cast his vote, during the general elections. But, he is shocked to hear that his vote had already been cast. Following this, he starts protesting and what is the result of his protest forms the crux of the story.
As usual, Vijay has given an excellent performance to impress his fans. His dialogues and expressions are well designed to create Goosebumps to his fans. He had emoted well in certain scenes and it will be definitely a treat to his ardent fans. Varalaxmi is given a good role, but her expressions are not much impressive, as she repeats the same expressions right from the beginning. As expected Keerthy didn’t have a big role and she just appears as a template heroine. Radha Ravi and Pala Karuppaiah had done their job quite well. The rest of the supporting stars had done what is required from them.
After the story theft controversies, the film had got a good hype. Yet, did it impress the audiences? Vijay’s mass entry comes as a satisfying element in the film. The story is not new to us, but the climax. The second half of the film seems to be interesting. However, the length of the film should have been trimmed. Although the songs are hits, they are not placed at right intervals. The cinematography and the cuts are neat. The production values and the technical values are excellent.
What’s Not There?
Sarkar is definitely a mass film for Vijay fans. Whistles and claps shower for his dialogues that hit out the situation in the country. With a known story, Murugadoss had added a lot of Vijay masala to it and impressed Thalapathy fans. Sarkar – Diwali Dhamaka!
