Pankaj Tripathi is an acclaimed Indian film actor who has appeared in some of Bollywood's movies including Gangs of Wasseypur – Part 1, Gangs of Wasseypur – Part 2, Agneepath. He was born in a Bihari Brahmin kin in a small village of Belsan near town Gopalganj in the state of Bihar. Pankaj’s parents were farmers and didn’t have accessibility to modern means of communication. The village that he belongs to until today does not have access to television. In fact, it is surprising that the nearest theatre too is about 25 kilometers away from the village. His parents are farmers. He did theatre in his college days in Patna for close to 4 years before joining National School Drama. A produce of National School of Drama, Tripathi also appeared in a small role in Agneepath. He is one of the most underrated actors of Bollywood. He has done excellent work in the directorial guidance of Anurag Kashyap's Gangs of Wasseypur. In fact, He is considered as one of jewels of Indian cinema.
