Anu Sithara is an Indian Film and Television Actress. She works in the Malayalam and Tamil Film Industries. Anu hails from Wayanad district in Kerala. Anu was born on the 21st of August in the year 1995. Her father’s name is Abdul Salam, and her mother’s name is Renuka Salam.

A true Virgo at heart, Prachi Desai was born at Surat, Gujarat, on the 12th of September, 1988 in a traditional Anavil family. For her television career, Prachi won several awards. She won 8 television awards for Kasamh Se including Indian Telly Awards 2006 for Best Couple Of The Year with co-star Ram Kapoor and Fresh New Face Of The Year for Kasamh Se.

Prachi Desai got her break in films with Rock On (2008) with Farhan Akhtar in the male lead role. She played the character of his wife. The film was highly acclaimed. It won the National Award For Best Feature Film in Hindi and Prachi won the award for Best Debut in this movie. She also won the Successful Bollywood Breakthrough Award in the Indian Telly Awards for Rock On.

Thereafter, Prachi acted in other Hindi movies such as Life Partner (2009), Once Upon A Time In Mumbai (2010), Teri Meri Kahaani etc. Again for Once Upon A Time In Mumbai, she received several awards including Zee Cine Awards, Lions Gold Awards, Apsara Film and Television Producers Guild Awards and Stardust Awards for Best Actress In Supporting Role (Female).

Abhirami is a classical dancer turned model and TV anchor for a regional channel and a native of Chennai. Jayashri Ramnath or Bombay Jayashri, as she is known, is an Indian Carnatic musician, composer, and singer. Born in Kolkata, Jayashri belonged to a family of musical cognoscenti. Her parents, N. Subramaniam, and Seeta encouraged her to pursue the art of Carnatic music right from the tender age of four. Later on, Jayashri continued her education in music under T. R. Balamani for nearly a decade. She completed her scholastic education from St. Anthony’s High School in Chembur and graduated from the R.A.Poddar College in Mumbai. Jayashri also pursued a Diploma from the Gandharva Mahavidyalaya in New Delhi. Her thirst for music led her to Hindustani music greats Shri. Mahavir Jaipurvale, and Pandit Ajay Pohankar, with whom she spent more than six years acquiring the skill of Hindustani vocals. Jayashri also trained under the careful tutelage of the Padmashree Lalgudi Jayaraman, in Chennai, and learned to play the instrument Veena from G.Dhandapani Iyer. Her inception to concerts occurred in the year 1982, and ever since, Jayashri has graced stages all over the country such as the Rashtrapati Bhavan, Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, India International Centre, and cultural events such as Vishnu Digambar Festival, Bhakti Utsav, all in New Delhi. Shreya Ghoshal, one of the most famous singers in Bollywood today, was born on March 12th, 1984, in Berhampore, West Bengal. Her father Biswajit Ghoshal is an electrical engineer and mother Sharmistha Ghoshal is a postgraduate in literature. She started singing since the age of 4 when her mother taught her. She started her formal training in Hindustani classical Gharana of music when she was only six years old. She was trained for 18 months after which she continued her training in Mumbai with Late Mukta Bhideji. She completed her graduation in Arts with majors in English. Her first on-stage performance was at their club’s annual function. Her first studio album was in Bengali in 19998 and was named Bendhechhi Beena, and her first onscreen performance was in Awaz Nayi Andaaz Wohi. In 1995, she became the winner of All India Light Vocal Music Competition. Her fame and career began with her winning a television singing reality show named Sa Re Ga Ma Pa.

Kaviyoor Ponnamma is the evergreen mother of Malayalam cinema. Ever since she was just 22, she had been portraying effectively the mother role in Malayalam movies. Even after 55 years of her contribution in silver screen, she continues to play the “evergreen amma” character. Her first offer was in Thommante Makkal (1965) where she played mother to Sathyan and Madhu. After this role, the industry had heaped so much praise on her performance and there was no looking back at all. For her wealth of experience in the industry, she only gets love and acceptance from the viewers. That is why she finds playing mother role in cinema as honor. Actually, she wanted to become a singer in cinema, but her dream did not become true. While she sang songs for the dramas that were staged in Kerala, she could not get such film offers. She performed on stage when she was just 14 years old. Hence, she is always thankful to the theaters which taught her basic in acting. 

She has acted in over 1,000 films, and has won many state awards for her best supporting role in cinema (in the year 1971, 1972, 1973, 1974). She recalls very often that during her time, acting was taken up very seriously and it was just means of livelihood. But the present generation finds acting as passion and pastime job only. While there was some opposition from her mother in taking up acting as her career, it was her father who had supported her fully when she was a stage artiste performer in Kerala. It was just two years before that she had settled in Aluva after shifting from Chennai. In Chennai, she had stayed for 38 years. She also acted as grandmother and mother and appeared in some advertisement. Kaviyoor Ponnamma had acted in the mother role for the actors like Satyan and Prem Nazir. Nilambur Ayisha is a theater and film actress of the Malayalam entertainment industry. Her first name comes from the place where she belongs to. She is seen as one of the most inspiring personalities of the industry. She started her career as a theater artist. Ayisha, a Muslim woman, entered the stage when it was taboo for a Muslim woman to do so. Despite people pelting stones at her during her performance, Ayisha remained unflinching. She belonged to a rich family, but some section of the society was not acceptable to a woman taking part in plays.

Having nearly 30 years of acting experience in the Malayalam Movie industry, Valsala Menon is a true mentor and method actress, having acted in over 150 films.

Born in 1945 to parents Raman Menon and Devakiyamma, in the Thrissur district, she learned the nuances of classical dance from an early age, and performed on several stages in the presence of several dignitaries. She was crowned Miss Thrissur in 1970, following which she entered the realm of acting. She made her debut through the movie Thiramala in 1953 as a child artist. Thirmala was directed by Vimal Kumar and P.R.S. Pillai, and holds a special place in Malayalam cinema, having the renowned film maker Ramu Kariat working as an Assistant Director, with the cast Kumari Thankam, Sathyan and Thomas Burleigh.

Although she had several offers to act in movies, she did not enter the movie scene from the time of her marriage until the time her children had completed their schooling, making her comeback in Kiratham in 1985.

Following her re-entry into the movie scene, she acted in several movies of note, including Parinayam (1994) where she played the role of Veliya Athemaru alongside industry legends like Thilakan, Mohini, Manoj K Jayan, and Nedumudi Venu. This got her noticed, following which she acted in some of her most famous roles. She also has acted in serials on the silver screen apart from several advertisements as well.

Some of her movies of note include Uppu, Sunil Vayassy, Oridathu, Theertham, Unnikale Oru Kadha Parayam, Nakshathrakoodaram, Sainyam, Vellinakshatram, Achuvinte Amma, Manushyamrugham,  Oru Yathrayil, Avatharam among several others, from 1986 to 2014.

Muhammed Kutty Ismail Paniparambil is the original name of Mammootty, the Malayalam superstar. Having working in more than 300 movies he is still a star to reckon with, in Malayalam film industry. Apart from acting, he was also a lawyer. Currently he is busy with philanthropic works too.

Born on 7th September 1951, Mammootty also donned the role of a producer. He has worked in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada, other than Malayalam films. He garnered the National Award for his acting skills, thrice in his career. He shares this feat with veteran actor Kamal Haasan. 5 Kerala State Film Awards and a dozen Filmfare Awards also decorate his cupboard. Mammootty was bestowed with Padmashri during 1998. Hailing from Kottayam, Kerala, Mammootty, after studying in Maharajah College, he pursued law at the Ernakulam Government Law College. Mammootty entered the film industry through the insignificant role in the film Anubhavangal Paalichakal in 1971. The flick Devalokam was the first flick in which he played the lead role. Sphodanam and Trishna made Mammootty a star to reckon with in Malayalam cinema.

Akkineni Sreekar Prasad, also called Sreekar Prasad, is an Indian film developing capable, known for his works in the Indian film industry. He works unpreventably on Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and English movies. His received National Film Award for Best Editing, for his exceptional work on the part motion picture Firaaq (2008), composed by Nandita Das.

Born on the 22nd of September, 1987, Unni Mukundan is the son of M Mukundan Nair and Roji Mukundan. He was born in Villadom in Trichur, but grew up in Ahmedabad. Unni made his foray into the film industry after the completion of his Plus Two in commerce, and is currently pursuing his B.A. in English from the Prajyothi Nietan College, Thrissur. Unni is a firm believer in having a good education, and is usually found to be busy with his classes when he is not shooting for his movies, even quoting “I believe that I am in a space where I can fix my dates”, showing his confidence in his ability, and also in his belief that a good education is absolutely essential.

Known as the “Muscle Aliyan” of M-Town, Unni made his debut in the Tamil movie Seedan in 2011, which was an adaptation of the Malayalam Nandanam, as the main lead. His debut Malayalam movie was Bombay March 12 alongside the veritable Mammootty. He also played a supporting role in Thalsamayam Oru Penkutty.

His versatility saw him reprise roles in movies such as Ezham Suryan, Bangkok Summer. He also played the title role in Mallu Singh alongside Kunchacko Boban, which turned out to be a box office hit. Siraj Kalla is a Movie Director and Writer based in India. He predominantly worked in the Telugu film industry. Shankar Ramakrishnan is a Mollywood actor and director who has excelled even as a screenwriter in many Malayalam movies. Shankar made his debut in his career by directing a film ’Kerala Café’ which was directed by a team of ten directors including Revathy, Anjali Menon, Lal Jose, Shaji Kailas, etc. This was the first package or anthology film that consisted of several short films tied together by a single theme or interlocking events, and different directors contributed to making this as a feature film ‘Kerala Café’. Manoj Pillai was an Indian actor who has worked in several Malayalam movies. He appeared as a villain in the TV show Manjurukum Kaalam. The story revolves around Janikutty, whose parents die when she was very young. She was brought up by Vijayaraghavan and Rathnamma, who were initially good to her but later, when they had their own child, they started getting harsh to her. In 2013 he was in the cast of the TV serial Amala. The serial is about an orphan girl Amala who faces several problems in her life but never gives up. The busiest foley artist, Mohammad Iqbal Paratwada, is believed to work in almost every film and with actor or actress of the Bollywood film industry. His career was initiated in 2002 from the notable crime-drama film Eyes. This film, directed by Vipul Amrutlal Shah, became a blockbuster. In a span of ten years, Mohan has been in the examiners’ panel in Anna University. He can speak, read, and write Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, and English languages. He has a passion for cooking mainly Palghat Cuisine. Mohan was the first South Indian actor who graduated from FTII (Film and Television Institute of India) in Pune.
